A one-of-a-kind residential roof repair program for seniors, veterans and our vulnerable populations.
Every roof replacement is at ZERO cost to the homeowner, and we plan to replace 4,000 more roofs over the next 5 years.
Residents enrolled in the Under 1 Roof pilot program experienced up to a 23°F decrease in attic temperature, which helped to significantly lower their energy bills by an average of $2,000 per year.
A functioning roof allows homeowners to address additional home repair and maintenance concerns over time. It also improves their quality of life by reducing energy consumption, thereby reducing utility bills – saving them money.
Heat islands are urban regions that are much warmer than their rural surroundings. Heat islands increase summertime peak energy demand, air conditioning costs, air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, heat-related illness and mortality, and water quality.
The Under 1 Roof program creates a network of energy efficient properties, increases the longevity of homes, and mitigates the heat island effect in and around the urban core, effectively reducing the temperature of our City.
